Description

Denmark’s historically greatest sculptor, Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770-1844), is a figure without compare. Although his name is liable to  evoke only a limited response beyond Denmark’s borders, most people will probably recognize the figure of Christ that stands in Frue Kirke (Church of Our Lady), as it has been reproduced in thousands of versions.

Thorvaldsens Museum, which is located close to the country’s centre of power, allows you to take a look at the heritage and tradition that Thorvaldsen left behind. It’s a voyage through neoclassical art which includes fascinating references to the entirety of Europe’s cultural treasure trove. This attractive museum can be managed in just an hour while also offering an immersive experience.
